The mangosteen tree, or Garcinia mangostana, is an evergreen tree from the Indonesian islands. The fruit of the mangosteen tree is edible and has a flavor similar to that of citrus fruits or peaches. Mangosteen fruit is generally high in sugar and low in fat, like most other fruits.
